Richard Tarlaian is a retired Captain of the Providence Police Department, where he served for 34 years (1969-2004) in the police department including patrol, detectives, prosecution bureau, training bureau, community policing and domestic violence unit. When he retired he was a deputy commander of the patrol division.
Currently he serves as Adjunct faculty, Community College of Rhode Island (social science dept.) Richard has vast knowledge of civil rights history and the teachings of Kingian Nonviolence.
He holds a Juris Doctorate from Boston University, a Master’s (Agency Counseling) from Rhode Island College, and a Bachelor’s Degree (Criminal Justice) from the University of Baltimore.
