Victoria Christgau has played a pivotal role in developing hundreds of educational programs that advocate for nonviolent solutions and support marginalized communities, emphasizing the integration of the arts in these efforts
She founded and produced the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Commemoration of Litchfield County, CT, for 20 years. Serving as the first director of the World Peace Prayer Society’s Peace Pals program she co-authored the International Peace Pals Activity Guide.
In 2007, Victoria founded the CTCN at the request of legendary civil rights leader, Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr. Currently she serves as on the Advisory Council of the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Institute, for the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), and is formerly the Recording Secretary (Officer) on the national Board of Directors for the Southern Christian Leadership Council (SCLC), a historic civil rights organization founded by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Of her many awards she has received two from the CT State Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission. A Community Service Award in 2014 and the Social Justice Leadership Award in 2023.
As a Nonviolence trainer and Peace/Arts Educator, she has presented nonviolence workshops, trainings and residencies at schools, colleges, and at hundreds of venues throughout CT and the nation.
